Tulsa, OK – May 12, 2024: Monte Caldera Technologies (MCT), a deep-tech company accelerating the discovery of sustainable materials through advanced physics modeling, is proud to announce the establishment of a new strategic office in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This expansion marks a major milestone in the company’s mission to scale impact and deepen its U.S. presence.
The move follows MCT’s successful completion of the GRIDX to Tulsa program, a selective initiative that brought together 11 high-performance deep tech and biotech startups to explore expansion opportunities in the region. The program culminated in a high-profile Demo Day in May, which drew over 40 venture capital firms from across the country, highlighting Tulsa’s growing influence in the national innovation landscape.
MCT was awarded a non-dilutive grant to support its expansion — a recognition of the company’s momentum, market potential, and groundbreaking work in materials science. The Tulsa office will be housed at Gradient, a premier innovation hub designed to accelerate the growth of deep tech ventures, alongside top-tier startups, VCs, and tech leaders.
“This grant and expansion are a testament to the strength of our team, our vision, and the transformative potential of our NESCGLE-based modeling platform,” said Hector Medina, CEO of Monte Caldera. “Tulsa is quickly becoming a magnet for breakthrough innovation, and we’re proud to be part of this emerging deep tech ecosystem.”
As part of its expansion, MCT also announced the signing of a strategic collaboration agreement with The University of Oklahoma to advance the NESCGLE framework and co-develop new applications across materials science, biotech, and sustainability.
Backed by visionary investors and supporters including GRIDX, Atento Capital, and the George Kaiser Family Foundation, MCT’s expansion reflects strong belief in its scalable platform, which enables R&D teams to design next-generation materials with greater speed, precision, and sustainability.
Tulsa’s emergence as a deep tech hub — fueled by infrastructure, capital, talent, and forward-thinking partners — represents a powerful opportunity for startups like MCT that sit at the intersection of science and climate innovation.
“We see Tulsa not only as a strategic location, but as a place where science and innovation are being reimagined,” said Medina. “We’re excited to grow here.”
